As a Nutritionist at Clifton Springs Health Center in DeKalb County, GA, you'll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of the community by providing nutritional assessment, counseling, and educational services in a public health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess individual nutritional status and needs for patients in health department services.
- Apply federal and state regulations to provide nutrition services, especially for WIC Supplemental Food and Nutrition Program participants.
- Counsel patients in WIC and other programs about nutritional requirements suitable for their needs.
- Refer patients to other health or public agencies as indicated.
- Monitor clinics, complete reviews, and identify WIC patients needing intensive treatment.
- Plan and implement group nutrition education activities and in-service programs for staff and agencies.
- Prepare and select educational materials and engage with mass media to promote accurate nutrition information.
- Document all activities and counseling using standard procedures.
- Perform internal audits, collect data for program evaluation, and perform related administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, or related field; DPD program completion required.
- Two years of job-related experience in nutrition care.
- Alternate: Two years at equivalent Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 level.
