About the job
This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage environmental and transmission engineering projects, working at a nationwide civil engineering firm known for its benefits and employee development programs. The EHS Specialist plays a key part in all project phases, from planning and design to regulatory compliance and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple project teams and manage quality, schedule, and financials
- Supervise and mentor scientific, engineering, and technical staff
- Oversee transmission line design, routing, permitting, and right-of-way acquisition
- Prepare environmental permits, reports, and application materials
- Develop protocols for data collection and manage technical reporting
- Foster client relationships and communicate scientific information via reports and presentations
- Provide regulatory guidance and support permit compliance efforts
- Coordinate project data collection and participate in field investigations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, wildlife management, or related discipline
- 3+ years project management experience
- 5-10 years of work in electric transmission
- Strong organizational and technical writing skills
- Experience with routing studies and client relationship management
- Proficiency with MS Office
