As a Sterile Processing Technician at Charlton Memorial Hospital, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. The position supports the Central Processing Department by decontaminating surgical instruments and medical equipment, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and maintaining meticulous documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments, endoscopes, and equipment.
- Package and assemble surgical instruments and prepare case carts for procedures.
- Distribute medical and surgical supplies as needed.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety policies.
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification within one year of hire.
- Preferred knowledge of sterilization, equipment management, and case cart assembly.
- Computer experience; MSM and Meditech preferred.
- Excellent accuracy, communication, and documentation skills.
