About the job
Support the cardiac stress labs on Mayo Clinic's Rochester campus as a Laboratory Technician, responsible for patient monitoring and preliminary interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns. Duties include caring directly for diverse patient populations, equipment preparation and calibration, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret patients' heart rhythms both at rest and during tests
- Prepare equipment and patients for testing and monitoring
- Educate patients about procedures and record physiological data
- Troubleshoot equipment and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate abnormal or critical findings and participate in emergency response
Qualifications
- High school diploma (or GED) and at least 1 year healthcare or residential care experience, or Bachelor's degree
- Preferred: healthcare program enrollment, direct patient care experience
- Certification: CRAT or CCT within 1 year of hire; BLS within 3 months
- Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills
