This role involves working as a Medical Assistant within a community health center to deliver comprehensive and efficient care to patients. The position requires supporting the healthcare team in both clinical and clerical duties, promoting high-quality service, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in patient care team activities and provide customer service using AIDET standards
- Administer medications as ordered, perform intake vitals, conduct lab tests, and support patient care
- Maintain accurate records in electronic medical records and assist with patient referrals
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and infection control
- May serve as an interpreter and assist providers during patient visits
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting school
- CMA/RMA certification preferred or must be obtained within the first year
- Minimum one year of recent experience preferred
- Bilingual abilities desirable
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EHR systems required
- Current California driver’s license and CPR certification required
Physical and Work Environment
- Physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Work in a fast-paced clinical environment with moderate noise
- Flexible schedule may include evenings, weekends, and travel
