This position involves providing primary healthcare services for a community health center, ensuring high standards of medical ethics and care are met for all patients served. The physician is responsible for evaluating patient health, performing examinations, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing treatments while maintaining detailed and confidential health records. Additional duties include supporting and collaborating with other care team members, participating in committees, assisting in policy development, and supervising mid-level providers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient health histories and document findings
- Conduct physical assessments and differentiate between normal and abnormal findings
- Provide routine examinations, diagnostics, treatment, and minor surgeries
- Prescribe medication and administer immunizations
- Advise on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle
- Refer patients to specialists as required
- Assist with policy and educational initiatives
- Participate in care coordination and follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN or Pediatrics
- Board Certified or eligible in relevant field
- Valid unrestricted Physician and Surgeon License (CA)
- Valid DEA and required life support certifications
- Continuing education to maintain up-to-date medical knowledge
Physical and Work Environment
- Regularly requires movement, standing, and occasional lifting
- On-site clinic environment with the flexibility for some travel to other sites
