Physician Assistant - Family Medicine

About the job

Deliver direct primary care within a public health organization, seeing patients across family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, and communicable disease programs. The role involves physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and documenting care as part of a collaborative clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct exams and diagnose patients in a variety of program areas
• Order and interpret laboratory results
• Prescribe treatments and medications
• Document care in electronic health records
• Supervise and precept students and residents as needed
• Support quality improvement and assist in program development

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• At least 2 years experience preferred in primary care
• Licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina
