About the job
As an educational audiologist, you will play a vital role in assessing and supporting students with hearing and balance-related challenges. Your expertise will help facilitate students' educational access, provide counseling, and collaborate with school teams to ensure optimal learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine students for hearing, ear, and balance disorders
- Interpret audiological test results and recommend educational accommodations
- Fit and monitor classroom amplification devices
- Follow up on student progress and adjust supports as needed
- Provide counseling to students, staff, and families regarding hearing loss
- Participate as part of the IEP team
- Educate students on hearing preservation and assist in crisis intervention
Qualifications
- Minimum one year as a practicing educational audiologist
- Valid CA Clinical/Rehabilitative Services Credential in Audiology or equivalent licensure
- Comprehensive knowledge of audiological assessments and related assistive technology
- Ability to work effectively across cultural and socioeconomic groups
- Skill in written and verbal communication
