About the job
Support laboratory operations by managing hazardous and regulated waste, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations at a research and development facility in South San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and manage hazardous and regulated medical waste
- Replenish lab waste containers and ensure proper labeling
- Perform decontamination of equipment, waste containers, and storage areas
- Assist with chemical consolidations, inventory, and compliance inspections
- Liaison with contractors for waste transportation
- Monitor and replace gas cylinders and handle liquid gases as required
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, compliant work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; relevant lab experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Certifications like RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER are a plus
- Valid driver’s license may be required
