About the job

As a Patient Access Representative, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate patient information, securing insurance verification, and supporting the intake process for a healthcare facility. This position involves close interaction with patients, data management, and appointment scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and verify insurance and patient information
  • Create and maintain electronic health records
  • Gather and process consent, privacy, and authorization forms
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed
  • Provide prompt and professional customer service to address patient inquiries
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or six months of specialized training/experience
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and medical terminology preferred
  • Computer proficiency, especially with database tools
Work Environment & Demands
  • Regular use of computers, data entry, and front desk interaction
  • Sitting for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs
  • Moderate noise environment
Compliance & Other Information
  • Must not be under sanction by federal agencies
  • Familiarity with medical billing processes is beneficial
