Patient Coordinator

About the job

This role is responsible for assessing patient financial needs, conducting insurance eligibility screenings, and providing counseling regarding coverage and co-payments. The Patient Coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare institutions, and government agencies to secure alternative resources and streamline patient access to care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct eligibility screenings and assess financial requirements
• Offer counseling on insurance benefits and out-of-pocket expenses
• Assist patients in accessing alternative financial resources
• Maintain compliance with regulations and institution policies
• Collaborate with internal and external contacts to facilitate smooth care navigation

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in social services, health-related field, or equivalent experience
• At least one year of experience in a related field
• Advanced computer proficiency (spreadsheet and word processing)
• Valid driver’s license required
• ACA Marketplace CSC Certification within one year of hire

Physical and Work Environment

• Mostly office-based with periodic lifting
• Moderate workplace noise and occasional exposure to outdoor weather
