The Medical Assistant role is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks in coordination with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Duties include patient intake, supporting clinical procedures, assisting with lab testing, medical record documentation, and ensuring an efficient care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and record patient histories, measure vitals, and interview patients
- Perform lab tests and assist with specimen collection and documentation
- Support providers during exams and procedures, including room preparation
- Administer medications as directed and manage patient flow
- Coordinate patient care activities including test results, referrals, and scheduling
- Assist with medical supply management and maintain a clean clinical environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant diploma, national certification, or equivalent military healthcare experience
- Externship experience required
- Current CPR certification through an approved provider
