About the job
As a Medical Assistant, you will deliver patient care and administrative support in a healthcare setting. Working closely with providers, you will take medical histories and vital signs, prepare patients for exams, perform assigned clinical tests, and support the efficiency of patient flow and recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients and record vitals and medical history.
- Prepare patients and rooms for examinations or treatments.
- Assist clinicians with procedures and provide patient education.
- Perform CLIA-waived tests and handle specimen collection and documentation.
- Support data entry and management of electronic health records.
- Coordinate care, follow up on diagnostic tests, and assist with referrals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent military healthcare experience.
- Completion of a medical assistant externship preferred.
- Current CPR certification required (or ability to obtain).
