The Nutrition Assistant supports patient and guest meal services at a health facility by preparing food, managing tray delivery, handling register duties, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The role emphasizes quality, teamwork, and adherence to sanitary procedures in a hospital setting with varied shifts, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, serve, and deliver meals for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Manage food production, maintain temperature records, and ensure recipe accuracy
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash registers
• Clean and stock kitchen areas, assist in putting away groceries, and follow sanitation procedures
• Assist in room service requests and keep communication with nursing staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; students close to graduation considered
• Prior food service experience required
• Demonstrated customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to operate cash register and follow safety procedures
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
