Patient Access Specialist

This role involves carrying out essential administrative and registration tasks to admit patients into a healthcare facility. Responsibilities include entering patient demographic information, validating insurance or financial details, and obtaining necessary consents and signatures while maintaining confidential records and adhering to regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls as a communication source for the clinic
• Provide excellent patient service and satisfaction, both in-person and over the phone
• Register new patients and update existing records, including insurance information
• Collect insurance cards/forms and verify insurance eligibility before appointments
• Schedule patient appointments and make reminder calls
• Collect payments and maintain cash reconciliation
• Ensure confidentiality of records and comply with HIPAA
• Participate in quality management and compliance programs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in a healthcare-related field preferred
• Proficiency in EHR applications
• No licensure or certifications required
