This role involves carrying out essential administrative and registration tasks to admit patients into a healthcare facility. Responsibilities include entering patient demographic information, validating insurance or financial details, and obtaining necessary consents and signatures while maintaining confidential records and adhering to regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming calls as a communication source for the clinic
- Provide excellent patient service and satisfaction, both in-person and over the phone
- Register new patients and update existing records, including insurance information
- Collect insurance cards/forms and verify insurance eligibility before appointments
- Schedule patient appointments and make reminder calls
- Collect payments and maintain cash reconciliation
- Ensure confidentiality of records and comply with HIPAA
- Participate in quality management and compliance programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a healthcare-related field preferred
- Proficiency in EHR applications
- No licensure or certifications required
