This supervisory role oversees the operations within Sterile Processing, including decontamination and case cart assembly, to support surgical procedures. The role focuses on workflow management, coordination of staff, training, compliance, and ensuring maintenance and repair of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise sterile processing, equipment decontamination, and case cart assembly
- Direct, train, and support team leaders and technicians
- Ensure preventive maintenance and repair of equipment
- Collaborate with Education and Quality Coordinators for training and compliance initiatives
- Establish, revise, and enforce department policies and procedures
- Participate in performance appraisals, corrective actions, and timecard management
- Assist leadership with financial and process improvements in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, FDA)
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration or related field, or high school diploma/GED with 4 years' experience in sterile processing
- Leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills
- Knowledge of reprocessing principles, quality assurance, and inventory control
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Certification as CRCST or CBSPD required
