Serve as a vital team member in surgical operations, assisting registered nurses and surgical staff to deliver safe, effective care during the intra-operative phase. This role involves technical support as a scrub assistant, maintaining the integrity and sterility of the surgical field, and adhering to established standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold sterile environments and aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures.
- Select and prepare surgical instruments and supplies based on procedure requirements.
- Clean, disinfect, and manage surgical instruments post-operation.
- Support proper patient positioning and ensure anatomical alignment during procedures.
- Participate in accurate surgical counts to prevent retained items.
- Comply with hospital policies and standards for surgical attire.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (preferred or required).
- 0–6 months experience required; 1–3 years preferred.
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity and significant occupational risk.
- Physically demanding; may require lifting up to 50 lbs and exposure to clinical environments.
