As an Adjustment Counselor I in a vibrant credit union environment, you'll use your communication and analytical skills to help members resolve financial challenges. The role supports both cost management and customer service through direct interaction and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect on assigned delinquent accounts to minimize credit union losses.
- Contact members regarding payments, recommend resolutions, and perform account adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records, and follow department procedures and regulatory policies.
- Provide recommendations about repossessions or charge-offs when required.
- Participate in teamwork efforts and assist with other duties as needed.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork and effective communication abilities.
- Familiarity with collection laws and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–1 year of relevant experience in collections or related fields.
Work Conditions
- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional local or overnight travel required.
