Medical Assistant

About the job

Provide clinical and administrative support as a medical assistant within a healthcare team. Facilitate patient care, ensure accurate documentation, assist in clinical procedures, and support the overall workflow in the medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient interviews, vital signs, and clinical assessments
• Document medical information and manage patient records
• Collect and process specimens for lab tests
• Prepare and assist patients during exams and treatments
• Administer medications and perform medical acts as prescribed
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and patient follow-up
• Participate in staff training and workflow optimization
• Maintain clinical cleanliness and comply with health and safety standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Medical Assistant Program completion, or equivalent military healthcare experience
• Completion of a medical assistant externship
• Current CPR certification required

• Based in Austin, Texas, within a clinical or outpatient healthcare unit
