The Behavioral Health Associate serves as an Intake Clinician in the Behavioral Health Unit, focusing on patient assessment, risk evaluation, crisis intervention, and admission processes during night shifts. This position works with patients across the age spectrum, collaborates with hospital staff, and ensures timely completion of clinical documentation and admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient and referral source assessments (in-person and telephonic)
- Complete crisis interventions and risk assessments
- Coordinate admissions and referrals with psychiatric and hospital staff
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in meetings and ongoing training
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant field or RN with clinical experience
- Preferred: 2 years hospital or psychiatric care experience
- Knowledge of DSM5 and mental health regulations
- BLS and de-escalation training required after hire
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, sit, use computers, and occasionally lift
- Personal protective equipment may be required
