The Patient Associate at a community health center is the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. The role covers patient greeting, scheduling, insurance processing, and maintaining confidentiality across all interactions, supporting both administration and patient care aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors, coordinate a comfortable reception area, and manage appointment scheduling and changes.
- Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance details, and process payments, copays, and payment plans.
- Answer and direct phone calls, supporting documentation accuracy within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Support inventory management, reporting, and additional clerical functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or completion of a medical office/assistant program required; bilingual (Spanish/English) mandatory.
- Strong customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in healthcare settings preferred.
